Is your price far above rubies, diamonds and pearls?
Or better yet, do we even need to ask that question? We all know the answer, but do we truly believe it?
True women are a very important part of this world. It is said that women are the most beautiful creation that God ever made on the face of this earth. Above all of the creatures and wonders of the earth, God made women the most beautiful, and stunning, and captivating. This article isn’t meant to hype you up on your “inner beauty” so the excitement can only die down in a few days, it’s meant to tell you what you need to hear. What you need is not a pep-rally, or a really cute guy telling you you’re beautiful. What you need is to know that you are beautiful. To know that you were created in the palm of your Savior’s hand, and He trusts you to take care of yourself for that very reason. Not just physically, but spiritually. It is your obligation (no, it shouldn’t be a choice) to obey God and serve Him if you are His. It is your obligation to trust him to make you into the woman that He created you to be.
God created all human beings for one purpose and that is to bring Him glory. You’re purpose in life is not to just make money, buy nice clothes, or even get married – you are here for one reason, and that is to serve God.
If you are saying you’re living a godly life and are following God’s word, you still might not be living it out to the utmost fullest you can be. There’s one important thing God wants you to have in your life, and that is to feel rest in Him – to have peace and joy in following Him. If you have issues with things that God has designed for you to do, and fulfill your duties with a heart that isn’t fully loving God’s plans, then you are missing out on something very important!
1Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. – 1John 5:1-4
You can be fulfilling God’s commands, but not doing it happily – and, sometimes it may be just a problem to overcome, yes, or maybe you’re sacrificing something that was close to your heart, but you feel you must give it up to God – there are those exceptions in which you can be cast down into a deep pit of sorrow and depression…but other times it’s finding true happiness and peace in Him. What you need is a boosted faith in God – assurance. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen! (Hebrews 11:1)
You might be asking: okay, what does this have to do with being a godly woman? And the answer is: everything! Being a godly woman is not all about morals…it’s about what you believe and living it out. Through that you will be convicted and good morals should come naturally. Expected this article to be about wearing aprons and doing the laundry all day, didn’t you?

Being a godly woman also means being grounded in The Word…..to know the Bible and to truly live it out. If you’re wondering why we have not mentioned the hugely debated topics of femininity and feminism, we expect you to have your own opinions on that that are hopefully Biblically based. In the Bible there are many (many) Christian women, and scriptures specifically for women. Instead of us writing our own opinions on the matter, we will give you scripture. For example, Proverbs 31:10-31 says:
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:29 Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
So, is that the definition of a true woman?
Yes.
Although these verses are mainly targeted to married women (which some of us are not), we can still apply it to our lives. Even if you are single, consider yourself a companion not of a man, but of God. He wants YOU to be happy with the life He has given you!
Apply these things in these scriptures…clothe yourself with strength and dignity and laugh at the days to come. Speak with wisdom and give faithful instruction. Allow yourself to be swept away with all that you can be – apply these things and watch as you develop and flourish. A godly womanhood is not all about having children and serving your husband, it’s about serving in every circumstance. That is why we are not telling you that you are obligated to get married or have dozens of children – how can we possibly write instructions for all the women who come upon this article? YOU are unique. YOU are called to be who God has made you to be. Take that and run with it.
In order to be the Proverbs 31 woman, it must be a priority of your heart -
Remember that you are an example to the next generation – by keeping your ways adored with purity, other women in the future will follow your example as well.
Little do many people know, but most of God’s original plans for the world we inhabit today, are found in Genesis. There are so many differences, obviously, since Adam and Eve were around, but that doesn’t mean that our culture today should shun these biblical values! (Of course, what is your definition of biblical?). Research it, look it up, find out for yourself what God really says about being a woman! Ask Him.
Step #1: Pray.
Step #2: Read.
Step #3: Apply.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30.
A godly woman should be someone that captivates anyone who sets eyes on her. Not in a sensual way – an impact with godly brilliance.
Shouldn’t she leave a good impression on everybody who meets her? Her speech shouldn’t be of gossip and hatred towards others, right? Right.
Identify who you are in Christ. Seek your purpose. Acknowledge His love – embrace it because it’s your’s to have!
